Tips For A Successful Telehealth Experience
While the telehealth process is fairly simple, there are some steps you can take to ensure that your first virtual visit goes smoothly.
Here are some tips for making the most out of your telehealth experience:
1. Choose the device you want to use
Telehealth appointments can be conducted on your cell phone, tablet or computer. Choose the device you are most comfortable using.
2. Find a quiet place
Find a quiet, well-lit space for your appointment. Make sure you are away from outside noises and distractions and that you can connect your device to a power source during the visit.
3. Test your connection
UCF Health uses Zoom for telehealth appointments. You can test your internet, camera and audio connections on your device by going to zoom.com/test. Make sure your camera is set up at eye-level and that your image is clear.
4. Have your medical records handy
Be sure to have your medical records and a list of any current medications you’re taking handy.
5. Write down questions in advance
Write down any questions you have before your appointment. These can include questions about your symptoms, medications, etc.
