Three doctors from UCF Health provided their expertise to a multi-disciplinary team of volunteers at a special health screening event for farmworkers in Apopka. Dr. Beg (Rheumatology), Dr. Haimes (Occupational Medicine) and Dr. Weinstein (Dermatology) joined forces with students and faculty from UCF College of Medicine, UCF Nursing, UCF Physical Therapy and UCF Social Work in addition to UF’s Pharmacy school.
In two evenings, the team of volunteers helped almost 200 people- ranging from age 2 months to 70 years. The doctors worked closely with the students and provided oversight, evaluation and referrals for those in need.
