Team members from UCF Health helped make the Thanksgiving holiday a little brighter for Central Florida families in need. The team assembled six meal baskets that include all the traditional meal staples, along with festive plates and napkins and a gift card to help purchase a turkey. With the help of Thanksgiving Basket Brigade of Central Florida, the baskets will be delivered to families that asked for assistance, or who were nominated by someone who cares about them. The goal of the event is to help 1,000 families have a happy and memorable Thanksgiving.

“Thanksgiving is all about families coming together and being thankful for one another,” Anthony Dearman, nurse manager and one of the basket coordinators for UCF Health said. “We are happy to know that these meals will help strengthen family bonds, because during tough times, sometimes family is all you have.”

This is the second year that UCF Health has participated in the Basket Brigade. To learn more about the organization, visit www.basketbrigadeflorida.com.
