When High-Tech Multitasking Goes Bad
We all multitask to handle our busy schedules and never-ending to-do lists. But some forms of multitasking may be hazardous to your health. Researchers have found that using several forms of media at the same time — such as playing a computer game and watching TV – are linked to depression and social anxiety.
And a Swedish study discovered a correlation between computers and cell phones, and the mental health of young adults. However, the study did not identify whether technology was to blame for sleeplessness and depression, or whether the young people were turning to technology as a result of their conditions. Your best bet? Take a break from technology and enjoy some time in the beautiful fresh air.
