UCF Health Earns Echocardiographic Reaccreditation By IAC

UCF Health’s cardiovascular lab has been granted a three-year echocardiographic reaccreditation in the areas of Adult Transthoracic and Adult Stress from the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).

Echocardiography is used to assess different areas of the heart and can detect heart disease or signs of serious conditions. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, followed closely by stroke as the fourth highest cause of death.

There are many factors that contribute to an accurate diagnosis based on echocardiography. IAC accreditation is a “seal of approval” that patients can rely on as an indicator of consistent quality care and a dedication to continuous improvement. This designation ensures the highest level of quality and is required by many insurance carriers.

UCF Health’s Dr. Bernard Gros is a board-certified cardiologist with an emphasis in echocardiography. Dr. Gros is a Fellow with the American College of Cardiology, and a member of the American Heart Association and the American Society of Echocardiography.
