Nausheen Naz, M.D., has joined UCF Health, the College of Medicine physician practice, to treat patients with diseases of the joints, muscles, bones and connective tissues. Dr. Naz is board certified in rheumatology and internal medicine, and is an assistant professor at the College of Medicine.
“I was drawn to the College of Medicine because of its tremendous growth” said Dr. Naz.
Her clinical interests include rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and lupus, as well as autoimmune disorders and systematic conditions like vasculitis.
When it comes to patient care, she places great emphasis on making her patients feel as comfortable as possible.
“My job is to put them at ease and review all of their treatment options in a way that helps them make appropriate decisions, with the ultimate goal of improving mobility and their quality of life,” she said.
UCF Health Medical Director Maria Cannarozzi, M.D., said “Dr. Naz is a perfect fit for our rheumatology team. Her compassion for patients is backed with superior medical training and a track record of academic and professional excellence. We are so pleased she chose to make Orlando her new home.”
Dr. Naz graduated with honors from the Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. She completed her residency training at Harvard Medical School and her Rheumatology fellowship at the University of Massachusetts.
Dr. Naz was an academic hospitalist at Harvard’s Mount Auburn Hospital and a clinical instructor of Internal Medicine at Harvard. Before joining UCF Health, she was an attending rheumatologist at North Shore Physicians Group in Boston, MA, and is a member of the American College of Rheumatology.
Dr. Naz will primarily treat patients at the practice’s East Orlando clinic, located just blocks from the main UCF campus.
